                                           Mission Statement:

Where carpentry is the design and science of woodworking, fine finishings are the art and personality.  Artisan Paintworks specializes in awakening the intrinsic beauty of your home while at the same time delivering an on time, on budget and stress free experience.

I am a thirty-six year old paint contractor and have been serving the tri-state area since 1994.  Please take a moment to review my website...or online "resume" if you will.  I've included a biography page, so you can get to know me; a reference page to build your confidence; and if a picture really is worth a thousand words...well this site speaks volumes.  Having worked on such prestigious homes as Michael J. Fox, Kevin Bacon, MillerBoyette Productions (Nickelodeon), Meryl Streep and Jane Curtin you will find my work to be flawless and my references impeccable. Specializing in fine interiors and restorations, Artisan is also versatile enough to take on large commercial jobs...like Marist and Poughkeepsie Day School.

With a college background in art, and more than seventeen years on the job; I believe Artisan Paintworks to be a harmonious marriage of natural artistic ability and the very best of blue collar professionalism.

                                                      Why Artisan Paintworks?

Or, why paint at all?  Painting is...and remains...without exception, the single most rewarding investment you can make.  Not only can you achieve a total personality change, but painting pays back the largest appreciation to your home for the smallest initial investment as compared to ANY OTHER INVESTMENT YOU CAN MAKE IN YOUR HOME! That is a fact.  And I belive it's a fact anyone can appreciate in ANY economy.

That is probably why in the last five years or so I have seen literally an explosion in the number of "painting contractors" on the scene.  It seems the days of earning your title by spending mandatory time in each phase of a craft are gone.  However I was brought up this way, beginning as a "Journeyman" and progressing to "Mechanic"  as I progressed from a solid prepping and priming man to a skilled finish painter.  And finally ending as a "Master" painter only after ten years in the field: fine-tuning all aspects of the painting trade.  From floors to faux to furniture and beyond.  Try asking your painter (or potential painter)what the difference between shellac and poly is?  Or, what is mill-glaze and how can it undermine my paint job before thepaint is even applied?  What is canvas used for?  You get the idea.  Maybe in todays fast paced world these ideals are a little old-fashioned.  Would you choose a surgeon who only completed three years of a six year degree?  He has the general idea....If I sound a little passionate about being qualified, it's because I am!  I've heard too many nightmare stories from homeowners and have too much pride myself to NOT be passionate.  This is what I do and part of who I am.  Your home, your most valuable possesion...deseves nothing less.
